xplace scope

The xplace head office is located in the university town of Göttingen. Our subsidiaries and sales offices mean that we are represented in almost all key economic areas in Europe. We have also established sales and service partnerships on all the continents of the world to facilitate the implementation of international projects.

The xplace story

xplace was founded as a start-up in the university town of Göttingen in 2002. The company started with just one product, the Entertainment Terminal. From there, it grew to become one of the leading providers in the field of POS digitalisation. The company has constantly expanded its range of services and solutions and has now succeeded in penetrating the market in numerous countries around the world.

 

Company History

  • 2000: Development of the xplace Designer software application
  • 2002: Advertools GmbH is founded; 2003: Advertimes GmbH is founded. Merger of the two companies in 2008 to create xplace GmbH
  • 2003: Introduction of the first xplace Entertainment Terminals at Saturn
  • 2004 onwards: Entry into the market in almost all European countries as well as Russia, the USA, China and Dubai
  • Expansion: Subsidiaries established in the UK (2010), Spain (2010), Russia (2011), Turkey (2012) and Italy (2015)
  • 2016 to 2017: World's largest roll-out of electronic price labels for MediaSaturn

      • Some 260 employees and partners in over 25 countries
      • Best practices in various retail industries,including consumer electronics, fashion, automotive, furniture, food retail and  consumer goods
